Grosbeaks Return

7 a.m. Three Black-headed grosbeaks perch on a Gambel’s oak near the road at mile 1.3. They wear a penguin like butler’s uniform: a black back with white chevrons, and have an orange-red breast. These have been absent from the canyon since the spring.
